I get it Terry. Alternative service wasn't an option for my father, who did jail time, or my contemporaries. I only got off easy by not being a permanent resident of any particular country at call up times.

It's easy Julia. You ask them a question that they can't honestly answer without the Worldly seeing their cultish side. Once you have made them lie, you ask them questions to get them to contradict what they just said. I did the same thing to some Mormons last week.

I just say "No."
apostate ˈapəsteɪt / noun
- 1.
a person who renounces a religious or political belief or principle.
" after fifty years as an apostate he returned to the faith "
synonyms: dissenter, heretic, nonconformist ; More
- 1. abandoning a religious or political belief or principle. " an apostate Roman Catholic "
I didn't leave any church. I didn't join one. Many of the Dubs I know, did leave a church to join the Rutherfordites, so that makes them apostates by dictionary definitions.

I don't think they'll be bothering me for a while. I just made one lie about their church doctrines and practices and caught them out very publicly. They don't like getting caught lying with an audience of Worldlies.

You hunt for them. Wave to them. Be nice to them. I've got Mormons promising to come back next week. They're just as much fun.

BIG conversation with the missus MKII. Ended well. Wish I could argue better!
by Captain Blithering inwell, had a loooooooong conversation with the missus again after being accused of being overly critical of the borg.. .
i stated that i thought the borg was marvellous, full of really good people, (in our experience, it has been so far), but that i had difficulty with the dogmatic stance we had on certain issues that we couldn't possibly be sure about, and that if i were to vocalise any of these issues and unrepentantly not change my thinking, then i could be df'd for that, which i view as an unloving bullying tactic.
organ transplants, vaccinations, (jah will resurrect, don't worry), new understandings of the fads and generations etc... particularly the thought that only jw's will be saved.

Whenever they make a claim that you know is untrue, challenge them to find you an article that proves their claim. That way, they have to do some research themselves.
Every paragraph that suggests non JWs may survive, goes on to mean the opposite when read carefully in context. Try to get her to work that out herself.

TTATT family blow out
by redvip2000 infor those of you who have a minute to read this, here is a report from my family trip.. i was in florida for the holidays visiting my older sister and family, along with my parents which were also visiting.. although i've had conversations with my mother about the organization, my sister and her family had no idea of my position in regards to the (un)truth - perhaps because we live far away from each other.
i knew the day was coming.... on my second day there, the whole family was sitting around bs-ing about different stuff, and as usual my mother starts with the "world is getting worse by the day" conversation, followed by approving nods and smart remarks from the rest of the family.
i then politely told them that this was not true, that in fact the world has never been better.

Good job. My advice now, would be to get them trying to demonstrate you were wrong on those subjects rather than feeding them more 'Apostate' info.
My lot backed down with a thorough job done on the few subjects I chose to give them. They didn't leave but they behave themselves around me. They don't have the balls to leave.

Welcome to the forum
"I let my mother instinct kick in this morning..."
The more you let you mother instinct override your JW training, the better your relationships with your non-JW kids will be. You chose to raise her in a religion with a history of failed prophetic mumbo jumbo, so according to Deut 18:20-22 you don't have any high ground to look down your kids from if they don't join, or leave.
I've apologized to my kids. What are you going to do?
